Your credit file is important to you. All major lenders will access
an individuals credit file before making a decision about providing
a new credit line, such as a bank loan, hire purchase, credit cards
and so forth. It is therefore important that credit files are maintained
accurately, which lenders have an obligation to do, in order to
comply with directives laid down by the Information Commissioner.
Most accounts held by Thames Credit are updated monthly to reflect
the account status or the fact that there is a changing account
balance. If a customer makes a payment, we report that to the Credit
Bureaux so that our customers credit file is accurate. Similarly,
when a customer has either paid his/her account in full or paid
an agreed amount in full and final settlement, we will then flag
that customers account as “satisfied”, at the Credit
Bureaux.
